The Mission:

To provide assistance, in times of need, to those affected by tragedy. In addition, the Association will support the Firefighters of Wood River Fire & Rescue with additional training, equipment, and assistance in an effort to provide the most comprehensive fire protection and emergency medical services to the community.

The Wood River Fire & Rescue Fire Fighters' Association was founded in 2002. Made up of a five member volunteer board and guided by a membership of 30 - 35 Wood River Fire & Rescue Firefighters & EMS Responders, the Association's goal is to take the extra step in helping our community by raising money that will directly or indirectly go to help the constituents we serve.

Directly, we have a victim's relief fund that provides funds to those in our area who have suffered tragedy in their lives. This includes a burn out fund for fire victims, donations to scholarship funds for children who have lost a parent, and direct donations to victims of vehicle accidents or other traumatic events.

Indirectly, we support the firefighters and EMTs/paramedics of Wood River Fire & Rescue by providing equipment to make their work easier and more efficient, subsidizing training that the department itself does not have the budget for, and reimbursing tuition costs for members who have chosen to send themselves through paramedic school or other medical training. All of these expenditures allow our firefighters and EMS responders to provide better service within our district.

Supporting Community Members

We use WRFRFFA funds to support families who have been victims of fires or other tragedies until they can get back on their feet.

Supporting Firefighters

We use WRFRFFA funds to support our firefighters with training and equipment to help them be better at their jobs and to help them serve the community more effectively.

Supporting Other
Organizations

We work with other organizations around the valley to support those in need and to make sure that, when we need to work with other agencies, our coordinated service is as strong as it can be.
